Bio

Megan Jeanette Myers is Professor of Spanish and Co-Director of the Languages and Cultures for Professions (LCP) program. Myers also directs study abroad programs in Latin America and the Caribbean and was a Fulbright Scholar to the Dominican Republic in 2021-2022.

Myers attended Middlebury College in Vermont, where she received a B.A. in Spanish with minors in Portuguese and Secondary Education, and later attended Vanderbilt University, where she completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in Hispanic Literature. Myers is the author of two books of literary criticism, Mapping Hispaniola: Third Space in Dominican and Haitian Literature (2019) and Neighbor-Homes: Julia Alvarez and Edwidge Danticat Write Hispaniola and the Diaspora (2025).
