Bio
As the transfer coordinator, I work closely with prospective transfer students interested in pursuing their degree at Iowa State University. I serve as a resource for advising staff and faculty members at community colleges who help support students transitioning to a four-year university. Additionally, I coordinate the transfer plans for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
I am a proud alum of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, so I know firsthand how many amazing opportunities students have access to. Within the classroom, students have options to learn across a wide variety of disciplines, where they can make their degree unique to them. I always recommend students find their fit by exploring experiences outside of the classroom, too – and that looks different for every student. Joining clubs, conducting research, or studying abroad can teach a student so much about themselves and the world around them.
As a student and a professional, I have experienced many different roles at Iowa State. As a student, I was a campus tour guide, an LAS Student Ambassador, worked as a tutor, and held leadership roles in my sorority. These experiences led me to a passion for higher education, and since then, I have worked professionally in a variety of spaces such as orientation, student programming, and admissions.
I hold two degrees from Iowa State – a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in student affairs. I enjoy exploring the fantastic bike trails in and around Ames with my husband in my free time. We are season ticket holders to Cyclone football games and love sporting the cardinal and gold! When I am not cheering on the Cyclones, I love running, reading mystery novels, and spending time with my cat.
The best part of my job is interacting with students and families. It’s truly a joy to share Iowa State’s campus with our visitors. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about Iowa State, transferring, or your next steps to becoming a Cyclone!
