Elizabeth Zimmerman

Academic Adviser

As an academic adviser for the LAS College I have a variety of advising roles:

  • I advise Biological/Pre-Medical Illustration majors and minors
  • I advise International Studies second majors and minors
  • I advise Leadership Studies minors and certificates
  • I am also one of the Orientation Coordinators for the LAS College. Together with a fantastic team of colleagues, we coordinate academic programming to ensure that our incoming freshmen and transfer students start their experience well.

I have training in Mental Health First Aid and First Aid CPR/AED.

My degrees are in English (B.A.-ISU 2007) and Interdisciplinary Studies: World Cinema (M.A.-ISU 2010). As a graduate student I taught Globalization and the Human Condition (ANTHR 230) for one semester and Music Rock ‘n’ Roll History (MUSIC 304) for three semesters.

In my other life I am a musician constantly inspired by art, culture, film, and nature and my musical influences/styles range from jazz and soul to folk and rock. I have produced five albums of original music, a holiday album, and hope to produce a children’s album in the near future.
