Welcome, future Cyclone
Iowa State’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) awards scholarships to incoming first-year students each year.
The Fall 2026 incoming freshman general scholarship application closed on January 6, 2026. You can check OneApp for department scholarships with different start dates and deadlines.
OneApp will ask about your experiences, activities, jobs, interests, and plans. Complete the General and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences sections in OneApp to be considered. OneApp will use these sections to automatically submit your application to opportunities for which you meet the review criteria. OneApp may also recommend additional scholarship opportunities for you to explore. We encourage you to apply for scholarships every year at Iowa State.
How do I sign into OneApp?
If you have already accepted your offer of admission, you should sign into OneApp with your Net-ID. Do you still need to create your Net-ID? Sign into your admissions account first to create your Net-ID.
If you are waiting to accept your offer of admission, you can still apply for scholarships. Use the admissions account you created when you applied to Iowa State or registered for a campus visit.
FAFSA
All students should complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to qualify for institutional and federal financial aid. Iowa State University’s federal school code is 001869. The priority deadline for Fall 2026 was December 18, 2025. Students who file after the priority deadline are still considered for federal aid programs.
Applying for financial aid
Remember to complete the General and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences sections to be considered for scholarships. Once you have done this, you can explore any other scholarship opportunities that OneApp may recommend.
