Jane R. Jacobson earned her BA in History from Iowa State and her MA in History from the University of Iowa. In 1982 she joined the LAS College Advising Office as an academic adviser. In 2001 she became the Director of LAS Student Academic Services. In 2013 she was made the Director of Student Enrollment, Advising, and Career Services for the college. In this position she oversees recruitment, advising college-wide, and the post-baccalaureate transition. Jane has been an active member of NACADA, the Global Community for Academic Advising. She served as Region 6 chair for four years. She was then elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors and served as vice president. She has presented at numerous state, regional and national conferences. Her most recent research focus is students who earn college credit while in high school and their experience in college. Jane represents the college and academic advising at numerous college and university committees and task forces.
