Kim McDonough

Director of Alumni Relations

As the director for alumni relations for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, I oversee the college’s alumni relations activities, and serve as a primary contact for college departments on alumni activities, communication, events and strategic priorities. I also provide advice and support to college administration about annual nominations for alumni awards and honors.

Prior to joining the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, I was a program coordinator for Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication at Iowa State University. In this position I worked with Greenlee School alumni and friends to coordinate events, to create internship opportunities for students and to increase placement. I also managed the redevelopment of the Greenlee School’s Alumni & Friends organization and served as a member of its leadership board.

I have earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism and mass communication from Iowa State University, and I am working toward a Ph.D. in education with an emphasis in higher education at Iowa State.

I am excited to work with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and its departments on their alumni relations activities, and I am looking forward to meeting and working with many great alumni.
